Joel Ryan an evangelist for live electric music and pioneered the adaption of digital technology for the Arts. He worked at IRCAM and STEIM becoming its science director and began teaching at the Institute of Sonology the following year.
Joel plays with genre-busting improvisers. He plays with Evan Parker, George Lewis, F.M. Uitti, Barry Guy, Agusti Fernandes, Peter Evans, Joëlle Leandre, Najib Cherradi: a veritable who's who in improvised music.
