Splendor Jazzclub met Philipp Rüttgers & Zack Lober
Adventurous piano trio with a unique repertoire of special compositions, jazz standards, and original works
Drummer Felix Schlarmann invites you to the first Jazz Club edition of 2026, featuring a special premiere of an adventurous piano trio led by Felix, pianist Philipp Rüttgers, and bassist Zack Lober.
Philipp Rüttgers is no stranger to Splendor and has previously played in various projects, including with Oene van Geel and River Adomeit. Felix and Philipp share a long musical history thanks to their collaboration in Phil's Music Lab, the large-scale ensemble with which they have performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival, among other venues.
In recent months, Felix and Philipp found each other again during intensive jam sessions in Philipp's studio. From these sessions—which focused on jazz standards, special compositions, and their own work—a new trio emerged, with bassist Zack Lober. Lober is considered one of the leading bassists in the Netherlands and is known for his band No Filler, among other things.
What began as an inspiring encounter is now being shared with an audience for the first time. Expect a real jazz evening: idiosyncratic, adventurous, and interactive, with a repertoire of special compositions, standards, and original work.
