Afterglow, a double reed feast

The individual works in the program reflect the time, place and life to which the composers were exposed. With the exception of Troxler's work, the compositions are set in the 20th century; all are like an "afterglow" of the time and place in which the music was written. The compositions give us a strong impression of the thoughts and perceptions of the respective composers at their time. They introduce us to different musical styles of the time, but each of the compositions is a world unto itself. The feeling of "afterglow" is also evident in Troxler's composition "Lagrangian Relaxation", giving us an image and reflection of another century.
