Máté Lachegyi: ‘Realms of Imagination’ — Dreams

‘Realms of Imagination’: music inspired by dreams and subconsciousness

Amsterdam-based Hungarian jazz pianist Máté Lachegyi organises the concert series ‘Realms of Imagination’ at various venues in Amsterdam. Each concert focuses on a different field of imagination: spirituality, cinematography, poetry... This concert brings our dreams and subconsciousness in the spotlight through the compositions of Máté Lachegyi.

His quartet, featuring Natalio Sued on saxophone, Omer Govreen on bass and Miklós Kovács on drums, is hosted and completed for this occasion by oboist and Splendor musician Maripepa Contreras. Máté Lachegyi wouldn’t like to deliver direct messages in his music. Instead, he opens a door through which he invites the listener to a kind of daydreaming: we step into the universe of our own mind, full of images, thoughts and emotions.

Máté Lachegyi Quartet:
Máté Lachegyi - piano
Natalio Sued - saxophone
Omer Govreen - double bass
Miklós Kovács - drums
Maripepa Contreras - oboe (special guest)
