The Ukrainian Cinema Club together wit Splendor musician and pianist Antonii Baryshevskyi present a series of Ukrainian films in Splendor.
On December 18 and 20 they present a special screening of You Are the Cosmos, a new sci-fi comedy-drama by Ukrainian director Pavlo Ostrikov. The film is currently attracting full theaters across Ukraine and has already become one of the country’s most discussed releases.
After Earth explodes, Ukrainian space trucker Andriy Melnyk becomes the last human in the universe — until he unexpectedly receives a call from Catherine, a French woman living on a distant space station. Despite all obstacles, Andriy begins a journey through space in hopes of finding her.
You Are the Cosmos is a heartfelt story created over seven years and conceived more than a decade ago.
The film combines cosmic adventure, humor, tenderness, and a distinctly Ukrainian spirit — often described as “Interstellar with a Ukrainian soul.”
