Vulnerabililty Portraits
Music and storytelling by Alkistis Misouli Quintet and Sahand Sahedbivani
The event explores the intimate occassion where sharing memories of having felt exposed, vulnerable, insecure, threatened is expressed through implicit expressions of art such as music or storytelling. Starting off as an improvisation encounter, Alkistis Misouli recorded a few duo 'memory portraits' with different musicians : a game of improvisations structured by parametres that were derived by vulnerable memories shared between the musicians. Listening back , she extracted material that resulted in the series of compositions entitled ''Vulnerability Portraits'' as well as joining those four musicians that participated in the project into the band of this evening. Storyteller, writer and musician Sahand Sahedbivani will perform a contrasting solo show reflecting the theme of the evening through personal stories and accompanying himself with music.
