Vox Sturnus in concert

A sparkling new Dutch-Scandinavian vocal collective

Vox Sturnus: a brand new Dutch-Scandinavian vocal collective of six women who compose their own music. The focus is on the voice, but they also use instruments to enrich their own compositions in no less than five different languages (Dutch, English, Icelandic, Danish, and Norwegian) and interweave their voices into a sublime harmonious whole.

Their music? An eclectic mix of folk, jazz, classical music, and pop. Sources of inspiration include the impressive Scandinavian nature, poems by E.E Cummings and the music of Seamus Heaney, This Is The Kit, The Staves & Lisa Hannigan.

About the musicians:
Margriet Sjoerdsma won an Edison in 2021 for her latest album Northern Lights, Thora Sveinsdottir and Maaike van der Linde are part of the highly acclaimed Stargaze Ensemble, Anne Marie Roel Messerschmidt is working on her first album, Julia Werner recently released an album with the award-winning vocal group Greener Grass, and Annie Tångberg plays in the Metropole Orchestra; she has toured with Lenine and Gregory Porter, among others.

Don't miss this enchanting experience!
