presents:
Basklarinet Festijn percussie (ff) (17:00u)
from common percussive to caressing sounds
Fourth edition of Basklarinet Festijn: just like the previous editions, the Basklarinet Festijn is organized by the bass clarinetists Fie Schouten and Tobias Klein. This year they decided to delve into combinations of the bass clarinet with the family of percussion instruments. Just as percussion can cause a stir — think of the hit on a drum that literally scares you awake — the warm sounds of a vibraphone can embrace the listener with melodiousness. As jazz musician Charles Mingus put it in his classic: Better get hit in your soul.
