Step into a mountain inn in Northern Italy. By the fireside, centuries-old legends from Valtellina and the villages around Lake Como come to life — a region where isolated mountain valleys have given rise to a rich tradition of folk tales and myths.
Peter Prommel and Hanneke Metselaar tell stories of love, spirits and extraordinary encounters, collected and translated from Italian by Ruud Metselaar. Between the stories, music by Domenico Scarlatti and Barbara Strozzi fills the room, performed by pianist Antonii Baryshevskyi and mezzo-soprano Ai Horton.
The flavours of the region are part of the experience too: Valtellina wines will be served at the bar and may be taken into the concert hall. An atmospheric evening in which stories, music and wine come together to create a journey into the Italian Alps.

About the Musicians
Ai Horton is a Canadian-Japanese mezzo-soprano specialising in early music. She regularly performs with Dutch ensembles, combining historically informed performance practice with a warm and expressive storytelling style.
Antonii Baryshevskyi is regarded as one of the leading Ukrainian pianists of his generation. His playing is acclaimed for its combination of exceptional virtuosity, poetry and deeply felt musicianship.
